17 August 2026
The International Summer School in Industrial Engineering for Advanced Automotive officially started on 17 August 2026 in Bologna, welcoming students for a two-week programme focused on the engineering technologies and skills shaping the future of advanced automotive systems.
Promoted by MUNER – Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna and hosted at the University of Bologna, the Summer School is delivered entirely in English and combines academic lectures, applied modules and industry-oriented insights.
Throughout the programme, participants will explore a broad range of topics at the forefront of automotive engineering, including lightweight design, electrified powertrains, vehicle dynamics, composites, connectivity and sensors, life cycle assessment, AI and digitalisation in automotive applications.
The programme is primarily designed for MUNER Master’s students and is also open to graduates in Industrial or Electronic Engineering, or candidates holding equivalent international qualifications.
Under the academic direction of Prof. Dario Croccolo, the programme is delivered by faculty members from the Department of Industrial Engineering, with contributions from multidisciplinary experts.
The first day marked the beginning of an intensive learning experience, bringing together participants with different academic and international backgrounds in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley.
Two weeks focused on the future of automotive engineering
From 17 to 29 August, the participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of advanced automotive systems while developing a broader understanding of the technological and industrial challenges facing the mobility sector.
The Summer School represents another opportunity for MUNER to connect academic excellence, advanced engineering education and the automotive ecosystem of Emilia-Romagna.
The School is part of the MUSE – Motorvehicle University Skills Empowerment project, promoted by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the University of Bologna, MUNER, and Fondazione Marco Biagi, and co-funded by the Emilia Romagna Region and FSE+ 2021/2027.
