Funding and statutes

MUNER – Motor Valley University of Emilia-Romagna benefits from the Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme FESR 2014/2020, the planning document that defines the strategy and operations of use of Community funds allocated to the Region by the European Regional Development Fund, in the framework of the cohesion policy, in furtherance of the economic growth and attractiveness of the regional territory.

The Emilia-Romagna Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) focus also on mechanics and engine engineering among other productive areas of the Region.

MUNER, as part of this specific environment, collaborates with the Region in the definition of the plans of activities for the achievement of S3 objectives.

Thanks to the funds for the development of the Smart Specialization Strategy, MUNER aims at reinforcing the regional research and innovation system and facilitates the interaction between laboratories and enterprises. Co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

For the period 2023-2024, MUNER is among the beneficiaries of the fund program “Fesr 2021-2027, azione 1.1.7 – Contributi per le associazioni” awarded through the call “Finanziamenti per lo sviluppo della Strategia di specializzazione intelligente dell’Emilia-Romagna – anno 2023/2024”. The fund, 200,000 euros is dedicated to the project “Programma Strategico di Intervento dell’Associazione MUNER 2023-2024 (Acronimo: PSIAM 23-24)”.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Project Title: PSIAM 23-24 (Strategic Intervention Program of the MUNER Association 2023-2024)

ABSTRACT

MUNER is committed to developing and implementing innovative training strategies, methodologies, and tools to support universities and businesses in the Motor Valley. The goal is to offer specialized university programs in high-performance vehicle design and production, anticipating industry and research needs while guiding regional supply chains toward sustainable technological transitions.

Over the next 24 months, MUNER will focus on:

  • Developing methodologies and tools for collaboration between companies, universities, and students
  • Creating and updating regional training programs
  • Analyzing skill needs and matching them with training opportunities, supporting university-to-work transitions, upskilling, and reskilling
  • Promoting STEM education, gender balance policies, and Industry 4.0 strategies
  • Enhancing internationalization, cultural promotion, and scientific dissemination
  • Strengthening European networking and strategic research projects
  • Showcasing regional museums and racetracks
  • Attracting talent through summer schools and scholarships for underrepresented or vulnerable groups

PROJECT COST & REQUESTED FUNDING

  • Personnel: €142,857.14 – Covering high-profile professionals for coordination, activity monitoring, data processing, and communication efforts. A general coordinator from Ferrari SpA also supports the initiative.
  • External Services: €57,142.86 – Engaging consulting firms and collaborators for regional, national, and EU project proposals (PNR, PNRR, Horizon Europe), as well as for surveys, logistics, and event organization.
