Study Seminar | Monitoring physiological signals and human-machine dynamics in motorcycle Grand Prix racing: rationale and challenges
Saturday, November 9th, 3 p.m. | Online via MS Teams and in-person at Motor Valley Accelerator, Modena
MUNER invites students, alumni, and professionals to join an insightful seminar with Dr. Luigi Yuri Di Marco, who will delve into the complexities of monitoring physiological signals and human-machine dynamics in motorcycle Grand Prix racing.
In this seminar, Dr. Di Marco will discuss the potential and challenges of combining motorcycle and rider monitoring to advance our understanding of the human body’s response to race-induced stressors, and the dynamics of crashes.
Dr. Di Marco will also examine how this innovative approach could improve off-track training programmes, the medical assessment of riders’ fitness, and reduce the incidence or severity of common chronic conditions among riders such as the exertional compartment syndrome.
Speaker Profile
Dr. Luigi Yuri Di Marco holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Bologna and has extensive experience in biological signal monitoring and cardiovascular research. He has worked in the industry and in academic institutions in the USA, UK and Italy and is currently pursuing a degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Parma.
The seminar is open to all MUNER students and is accessible online to anyone interested, including alumni and industry professionals.
