MUNER invites its community to A2RL International Race: autonomous racing comes to Imola
On 5 September 2026, the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League brings its first international race to the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, with Unimore Racing – developed at MUNER’s founding university UNIMORE – among the confirmed teams.
For the first time, autonomous racing crosses the border from Abu Dhabi to Europe. On 5 September 2026, A2RL – Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League will hold its first international race at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, one of the world’s most iconic motorsport venues.
A2RL is the world’s leading championship for fully autonomous single-seaters, based on the Dallara Super Formula SF23. The race is organised by ASPIRE, part of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), in collaboration with Autodromo di Imola and ACI.
Among the confirmed teams is Unimore Racing, born from a robotics and autonomous driving laboratory at UNIMORE – Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, a founding member of the MUNER consortium. Their participation demonstrates how the academic excellence of Motor Valley is actively contributing to the future of artificial intelligence and intelligent mobility.
