Italian Motor Valley Experience 2026 concludes by inspiring the engineers of tomorrow

The 2026 edition of the Italian Motor Valley Experience (IMVE) came to a close on Friday, 24 July, with a final event held at the Modena Technopole, bringing together students, academics and industry professionals for an inspiring discussion on the future of engineering.

Designed specifically for high school students, IMVE is MUNER’s Summer School aimed at introducing young talents to the world of engineering before they make their university choices. Throughout two intensive weeks, participants explored the excellence of the Italian Motor Valley through lectures, company visits, cultural experiences and direct interaction with leading companies operating in the mobility sector.

The closing event perfectly reflected this educational mission.

The round table, “Get in gear: hard and soft skills for future engineers”, moderated by Soundous Drissi, welcomed professionals from CNH, HAAS F1 Team, Marelli and HPE Group to discuss the evolving role of engineers in an industry undergoing rapid technological transformation.

Through their personal and professional experiences, the speakers explored some of the key questions facing the next generation of engineers: Which technical and soft skills will become increasingly important? How are artificial intelligence, electrification and digitalisation reshaping the automotive sector? How can students prepare themselves for careers that will require continuous learning, adaptability and multidisciplinary thinking? The session also provided participants with the opportunity to engage directly with industry experts during an open Q&A, encouraging dialogue between education and industry.

The event concluded with the diploma ceremony, celebrating the successful completion of the Summer School by all 30 participants.

More than an academic programme, the Italian Motor Valley Experience is an opportunity for young students to discover what engineering really means, meet the professionals shaping the future of mobility and make more informed decisions about their educational journey.
