Innovating for inclusion: The Journey of the 2024 edition of the Women in Transport Summer School
Empowering future engineers, the third edition of the Women In Transport Summer School, organised by MUNER, successfully concluded just over a week ago.
This initiative is crucial in shaping a more inclusive and innovative automotive sector by fostering the talents of brilliant and passionate female students.
During the Summer School, participants had the opportunity to attend lectures, workshops, company visits and seminars, as well as practical activities led by professors and industry experts. All of this was accompanied by plenty of opportunities for networking, dialogue and experiences that we hope will put together the jigsaw puzzle of the most important memories for these young women.
The final round table saw the participation of more than twenty speakers from the most important companies in Motor Valley, who, thanks to the important role played by MUNER’s Gender and Diversity Empowerment Committee, agreed to sit down and discuss the issues of gender inclusion, the cognitive biases that characterise this sector and society today, and the importance of diversity and overcoming stereotypes. A truly enriching opportunity that we hope will provide a strong incentive for an increasingly open and interested dialogue.
We thank all the participants for their energy and commitment, and our partner companies and universities for their invaluable support.
We look forward to the next edition of the Summer School and continuing to promote diversity and inclusion in the automotive sector…stay tuned!
