Highlights of the 2024 Women in Transport Summer School in Modena
MUNER is deeply committed to building a community that challenges and breaks down the gender stereotypes that unfortunately still exist in the automotive sector. The Women in Transport Summer School is a flagship initiative for us. Bringing together 20 passionate young female engineers for two weeks in Motor Valley not only enriches our community, but also highlights the significant progress we still need to make. We firmly believe that the automotive sector deserves the contributions of everyone, regardless of gender, to tackle the truly challenging future that lies ahead.
Prof. Elena Bassoli, Director of the Women in Transport Summer School
This year’s programme, held at the Department of Engineering Enzo Ferrari in Modena from 1 to 12 July, brought together 20 exceptional female students who participated in a series of enriching activities:
- Insightful lectures and interactive workshops with the Formula SAE team from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
- State-of-the-art robotics lab sessions led by COMAU’s Edo Learning Centre.
- Exclusive tours and seminars with industry leaders such as Ferrari, Dallara, Lamborghini and Ducati.
- A culminating roundtable discussion on diversity and inclusion with over 20 speakers from MUNER’s partner universities and companies.
We are already preparing for the 2025 edition, which will take place from 30 June to 11 July.
We are looking forward to another inspiring journey!
