EMERGE 2025 Summer School: young talents shaping the future of green transportation

The EMERGE 2025 Summer School on Electrical Machines and Drives for Green Transportation Systems took place in Modena last September, bringing together young researchers, PhD students, and industry engineers for a week of advanced training and collaboration.

The program combined expert lectures and workshops on sustainable e-mobilityindustry talks by partner companiesguided tours of Motor Valley’s leading firms, and PhD poster sessions and upskilling activities bridging academia and industry — offering participants a comprehensive perspective on the future of electric mobility.

In a short video recap, Davide Barater and Stefano Nuzzo (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Andreas CarlssonHenrik Grop, and Marianna Mancini (school students), Irene Donà (Ferrari), and Francesco Leali (Head of Department and MUNER Board Delegate) share their reflections on the experience and on the importance of connecting education, research, and industry.

EMERGE is part of MUSE – Motorvehicle University Skills Empowerment, an initiative co-funded by the Region of Emilia-Romagna and FSE+ 2021/2027, which strengthens collaboration between universities and industry leaders across the Motor Valley.

Organized by the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the University of BolognaMUNER, and Fondazione Marco Biagi, with the strong cooperation of Fondazione Democenter, EMERGE 2025 aims to empower a new generation of engineers ready to drive the green transportation revolution.
